Eligibility:
Households gross income cannot exceed 80% Area Median Income
Being laid off
Place of employment closed
Reduction in hours of work
Loss of spousal/child support
Inability to find work
Having to stay home with children due to closure of day care/school
Unable to participate in previous employment
At risk of homelessness or housing instability
Documents to bring:
Government issued photo ID
Utility bill or proof of address
Monthly rent and amount past-due
Proof of household income in 2020
Proof of public assistance
Valid email address
Proof of immigration status is not required.

Interested in Finding affordable housing for my mother and myself. my mother‘ is 83 & I’m 58. I am her care giver & possibly in the western suburbs.
Can I get rental assistance,I was unable to pay my rent of 600.00 a month.
How can I receive funds to help pay my rent. My rent is $675.00 a Month, utilities are included in my rent.
I apply for rental assistance and I have not heard from anyone,then I apply for help and I was told that I didn’t get approved
If you received help with rental assistance can you be eligible again without being behind?
