Last-Modified: 2024-02-01 05:25:57Community Action Center brings together community resources to provide compassionate assistance to persons in need, prevent homelessness and promote self-sufficiency in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area.
CAC may be able to help if you are experiencing a crisis such as job loss, illness or divorce and need emergency financial assistance. CAC provides financial assistance to pay a portion of rent, mortgage or utility bills, or to help in other emergency situations such as fire or flood.
Qualified clients may receive help with prescription medication or prescription glasses in emergency situations only.
Frequency:
Eligible clients may receive financial assistance once a year, level of assistance will depend on the clients circumstances. Process:
Clients receive a pledge for the amount of support CAC is able to provide. In most cases, additional sources of funding may be necessary. Once the client has secured all necessary funds, the client will need to return to CAC to provide documentation that all funds have been pledged or secured. At that time, CAC will provide a check for payment to the appropriate business entity (landlord, utility company, etc.)
Checks are not written to clients directly.

I need assistance paying rent at Extended Stay Hotel due to Coronavirus causing job loss. I am a live-in Home Healthcare Caregiver. I put everything in storage to help the elderly. Now I need help. St Vincent De Paul paid for 2 weeks. I am on care.com, no one is calling us due to the virus/stay at home orders. Healthcare Agencies are not sending us to homes again yet and many closed. Many people do not want Healthcare workers in their home again yet. I am in Gwinnett county 30092. Thank you for any help, the rent is due again soon for weekly rate.
