Section 8 Rental Assistance, also known as the Housing Choice Voucher Program, is a program funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and administered by the City of Oceanside Neighborhood Services Department.
This program assiststo pay their rent for:
"Very low" income familiesSenior citizensPersons with disabilities Participants are responsible for an affordable portion of their rent based on their income, and the balance is paid directly to the rental owner by the Neighborhood Services Department.
The participant is responsible for locating a suitable unit and a rental owner who is willing to participate in the program.
The unit may be a:
HouseTownhouseCondominiumApartmentMobile homeBefore a unit may be subsidized it must meet HUDs and the City's requirements of decent, safe, and sanitary housing.

I was speaking to someone during my pregnancy and the application phase over the summer. I had met the deadline and submitted my lease and a few asked for items. Things have gotten much worse and I need to know if there are more options and what happened.

I get unemployment but my accounts been frozen for 6 months so I haven't received any money and I can't get help with food or shelter because it says I get unemployment which I do but haven't been paid so it's been a struggle. I qualify for roomkey housing and section 8 but no one calls me and tells me where to go.
