This program accommodate low-income families and individuals with rent assistance.
The Cedar Rapids Section 8 program serves:
Linn and Benton Counties.
Eligibility:
Qualify as defined by HUD and the PHA.
Income at or below HUD Income Limits.
Citizenship or eligible immigrant status of family members.
Social security number information for family members.
Consent to the PHAs collection and use of family information
Current or past behavior of household members must meet guidelines.
They have a Drop Box located outside City Hall at the corner of First Ave and First St SE.

I’m about to get kicked out but have nowhere to go. How do I get shelter. Waypoint doesn’t have anything open. I also have a cat. Also, can I get on a waiting list for low income senior housing? How do I qualify?
