Washington State Department of Social and Health Services offers assistance to those that qualify and are experiencing an emergent situation . These services can include help with rent or utility payments. Services available include Additional Requirements for Emergent Needs which is available to those receiving assistance through Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), State Family Assistance (SFA), or Refugee Cash Assistance (RCA) programs.
This program offers assistance in addition to funds already being received. Another program available is Diversion Cash Assistance (DCA) which is available to those that qualify and are in need of short term help but do not wish to receive TANF. You can apply for benefits by visiting your local office or you can fill out an application online.
