Veterans Of Foreign Wars Foundation's program provides financial aid of up to $5,000 to assist with basic life needs in the form of a grant -not a loan- so no repayment is required.
Unmet Needs is there to help America's service members who have been deployed in the last six years and have run into unexpected financial difficulties as a result of deployment or other military-related activity.

Are there any programs that help homeless disabled veterans that have not been deployed with finding housing? My brother falls into this category. He is a homeless disabled vet but he has never been deployed because he got medically discharged right out of the gate. The only option that the VA here in Topeka keeps giving him is go to Leavenworth. He cannot call the VA hospital in Leavenworth home. He needs a home. He doesn’t need a hand out, he needs a hand up. What are his options?
