Last-Modified: 2024-04-09 02:24:36The Key West/Monroe County Housing Authority administers federal, state and local affordable workforce housing programs for very low to moderate income families in the community by a means of the Housing Choice Voucher Program- Section 8, public housing, and affordable housing. The properties are located throughout Key West and offer something for everyone, from families with children to seniors.
These programs each have their own set of eligibility requirements that applicants must meet. There may be waiting lists for these programs and at times the lists may close to new applicants based on the size of and length of wait on the lists.

Mission Statement: The mission of the Housing Authority of the City of Key West, Florida is to create, preserve and provide in a non-discriminatory manner safe, secure and quality affordable housing for eligible families in a manner that promotes serviceability, economy, efficiency, and stability of housing communities, and the economic and social well-being of the residents through effective and responsive management and responsible stewardship of public and private funds.

What type of housing do you have for homeless single people? and how do i apply?
I'm a low income US citizen, 64 year old senior on ssi, ssa, food stamps. I've been told that the waiting period for housing in Monroe county is 7 years. Are there any chances of moving up the list faster?
