The assistance when approved and available is provided to those who are experiencing a crisis and needing emergency help to maintain their family well-being.
The need for this assistance is far greater than the funds available and as a result , many who apply will not be approved.

Hi I am a single mom seeking financial help for the holiday season. I am currently employed and am also a full time student who finds herself living paycheck to paycheck. I recently had to give my only means of transportation up because I could not afford the repairs needed for it (1992, 186,000 miles on it, transmission went out) I paid almost $400 for them to tell me that. I pay for my schooling all on my own, I pay for my child, we are renting a friends studio for the time being. She is charging us $800 per month. I am drowning and would like any help that can be provided. My son is in 6th grade and is 11 years old. I usually do not like asking people for help because I hold it together so well, but I am at my wits end. I have an offer to buy a 1997 truck, but they want $1500 for it and I don’t have it. They have been letting me drive it until I can figure something out, but I need to make a decision by the end of the month the man either give it back or pay for it to own. My son and I were biking, barting and bussing it to school/work and when we finally got the car we were happy to not have that additional stress but now it’s back. I don’t even know if you all read all of this but if you do, I can come in I can provide whatever proof you need because I have nothing to hide and a person asking for help needs to be transparent. I am seeking help from the main office Catholic Charities for emergency warm place for my husband and I. We were recently kicked out of our place( technically) I was and thrown in these cold streets. I know absolutely no one and am now once again homeless again.
I need help bringing the rent; on January they let me go because they said the restaurant is not gonna be able to open so I’ve been looking for a job but it’s hard, nobody hasn’t been calling me, I haven’t been able to pay my rent so I am four months behind.
