The CDBG funds assist low- and moderate-income persons, prevent or eliminate slums and blight, or meet a particularly urgent community need where no other funding is available.

HOME funds are used to increase the supply of decent, safe, sanitary and affordable housing for lower-income persons. ESG funds are used to increase the supply of shelter and provide services for homeless people and to prevent homelessness. The Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) program is a competitive grant issued each year to community-based shelters and traditional housing facilities, non-profit organizations that provide housing and counseling assistance to the state's homeless population and to those at-risk of becoming homeless. Learn More The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) provides home energy assistance to help eligible low-income households meet their home heating and/or cooling needs. The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) provides home weatherization assistance to improve the quality of life for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities and children by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety.

We are a family of four. Myself, adult son and daughter and grandson. We are unable to pay our rent utilities included. Oldest son is working part time hours and adult daughter is trying to find a job. I am elderly and only have social security enough to provide food for the month. We are trying to catch up on the rent but its almost impossible. The apartment is in my daughters name. Me and my adult son had no where to go so we moved in with her. Her landlord is charging us 200.00 to stay here but he doesn't count that toward her rent payments. We have no money to find another place to go. We have no choice but to stay here till we do. We could get evicted at anytime he wishes. I am asking for your help.
