The Weatherization Assistance Program is a national program to assist homeowners and tenants in improving the energy efficiency of their homes. Weatherization is funded by the state and federal governments. GBCA administers the program for residents of Bergen County.
What you need to know:
Eligibility is determined by total household income. Veterans who are receiving cash benefits and recipients of TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) and SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) automatically qualify. Owners and renters are eligible. A home is defined as a stationary mobile home, an apartment, a single room occupied as separate living quarters, or a single family home.
