Rent Assistance is a nationwide directory of government and non-profit agencies that provide families and individuals with assistance paying rent.
Community action agency for Bristol, Burlington, Farmington, Plainville and Plymouth provides community based services for people who are economically disadvantaged to promote self-sufficiency and economic independence. BCO administers the following programs: Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Eviction Prevention Program, energy assistance, homemaker/companion/respite services for elders and Head Start. Elegibility: Resident of Bristol, Burlington, Farmington, Plainville, or Plymouth/Terryville experiencing a non-recurring, unexpected, documentable hardship; For financial assistance applicant must have received a notice to quit; People who are behind in rent but do not yet have a notice to quit are eligible for mediation services only; Must have income; Income must be at or below 60% of the state median income; Monthly rent/mortgage cannot exceed 60% of gross monthly income; Must be able to pay the next month's rent; Other restrictions may apply
