Last-Modified: 2024-01-18 00:58:51Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing ProgramOn February 17, 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009,which ludes $1.5 billion for a Homelessness Prevention Fund. Funding for this program, called the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP), is being distributed based on the formula used for the Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) program. Grantees may provide rental assistance or services to eligible program participants who are residing or would like to reside outside their jurisdiction. They may also fund ubgrantees that serve persons outside of the jurisdiction, subgrantees that are located outside of the jurisdiction, and subgrantees that serve multiple jurisdictions. A grantee may establish more stringent requirements, such as requiring that HPRP funds be spent within the jurisdiction or establishing a residency requirement,but HUD is not setting these requirements. I called but no answer or voicemail services. I was wanting to know how to apply for your rental assistance.

I need assistance with rent and electric bill this month.
I have lost all but $791 a month income. We were evicted. The manager told me I couldn't use the memorandum. I'm not sure what it is, now we are staying with a person who is moving so we will be homeless again in a week. I found an apartment but I don't have all of the rent, app fee, and deposit. I am looking for work but its very hard. I can't concentrate from worry and its hard to find a sitter right now for special needs child. Can you help or give me resources that may be able to help?
